The school treats summer as a header to its academic year with some summer modules that start and end before July 1 and others that end on or after July 1. All summer modules are combined to form a standard term. If a student enrolled only in modules that end prior to July 1 and later withdraws from all courses on the same day before completing the modules, can they receive Pell for that year based on the 2020-21 EFC (Summer 2020, Fall 2020, and Spring 2021) if indicated from a return of Title IV funds (R2T4) calculation?
Yes, if Summer 2020 was a header for the 2020-2021 award year, it does not matter if all modules do not crossover July 1 because all of the modules were combined to form the standard term or crossover payment period that begins before July 1 and ends on or after July 1. Pell Grant funds disbursed for the summer term prior to the student’s withdrawal would be included in the R2T4 calculation.
