New Financial Aid Form Faces Rocky Rollout Amidst Technical Glitches

"The U.S. Department of Education has commenced a phased deployment of the 2024-2025 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), a form filled out by students to ascertain the types of financial aid they may qualify for. This procedure has resulted in restricted availability and several tech issues, causing frustrations for students, families, and financial aid administrators," BNN Breaking reports.

..."Despite the new FAFSA’s improvements, the ‘soft launch’ period has seen its fair share of challenges. Families have reported difficulties accessing the online form, which has only been available intermittently. Over 30,000 forms were successfully submitted during this period, but the Department of Education expects the form to be available only for short periods in the forthcoming days. These challenges have led to concerns from leaders like Justin Draeger, the president of the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators, over the problematic rollout."
