Michigan: Four GRCC Certificate Programs Now Approved For Federal Student Aid

"Four certificate programs at Grand Rapids Community College are now eligible for student financial aid," MLive reports.

"GRCC recently received approval from the U.S. Department of Education to begin offering financial aid to students who enroll in the following certificate programs: culinary arts, infant and toddler CDA, preschool CDA and criminal justice/police academy.

Fiona Hert, dean of GRCC’s School of Workforce Development, said she hopes the change will make it easier for students to finance their education.

She wasn’t immediately able to say to what degree the lack of financial aid hindered students’ ability to pursue the certificate programs. Financial aid eligibility for the programs, which were launched in fall 2013, goes into effect this fall."
