With PLUS Loan Denials Up, FAAs Ask Whether Approval Criteria Has Changed

NASFAA has received reports from schools about higher percentages of  PLUS Loan denials. We’ve also been informed that the Department of Education (ED) has been informing some borrowers who were denied a PLUS in the 2012-13 or 2011-12 academic years that they may have extenuating circumstances that would permit ED to reevaluate PLUS eligibility. NASFAA is working with the administration to investigate the matter.
