Streamlined metrics, a new warning zone, and a minimum program size of 10 completers would increase the number of programs subject to gainful employment (GE) rules and would make more of them ineligible, according to estimates released by the Department of Education (ED) accompanying draft regulatory language. Negotiators will use ED’s draft regulatory language as a starting point for discussion when the gainful employment negotiated rulemaking session kicks off on September 9, 2013.
