June 4, 2014 - For some students selected for verification, the process can seem onerous at best – and, at worst, may make college goals feel out of reach. With financial aid hanging in the balance, it is crucial that selected students understand what verification is, and what they must do to complete the process. That’s where financial aid administrators come in. Outreach is important, financial aid professionals told NASFAA, as are the soft skills necessary to provide excellent customer service and a heavy dose of patience.
