Suggested Topics for Research Projects and Articles
Projects and articles that address any financial aid-related topic are invited,
particularly those that focus on the federal student aid programs, need analysis,
delivery, and management/ administration. Some suggested topics include:
- Institutional impact of actual or proposed changes in higher education law,
regulations, and program appropriations
- Relationship of grants, loans, work, or childcare subsidies to student persistence
- Impact of undergraduate indebtedness on decisions about graduate education or career choice
- Technology use in financial aid administration
- Middle and high school awareness and planning for postsecondary education
- Economic, social, and cultural benefits of higher education
- The role of financial aid in enrollment management, including institutional aid and tuition discounting
- Need analysis theory
- New strategies for meeting the needs of students
- Distance education, including Web-based and computer-based learning
Note that these are only suggestions; they are not intended to limit the scope of proposed research or article topics.
