Suggested Topics for Research Projects and Articles

Projects and articles that address any financial aid-related topic are invited, particularly those that focus on the federal student aid programs, need analysis, delivery, and management/ administration. Some suggested topics include:

  • Institutional impact of actual or proposed changes in higher education law, regulations, and program appropriations
  • Relationship of grants, loans, work, or childcare subsidies to student persistence
  • Impact of undergraduate indebtedness on decisions about graduate education or career choice
  • Technology use in financial aid administration
  • Middle and high school awareness and planning for postsecondary education
  • Economic, social, and cultural benefits of higher education
  • The role of financial aid in enrollment management, including institutional aid and tuition discounting
  • Need analysis theory
  • New strategies for meeting the needs of students
  • Distance education, including Web-based and computer-based learning
