Cash for College

Deadlines are important!

Financial aid forms and applications are just like homework; you have to turn them in correctly and on time. Now is the best time to start learning this simple fact, if you haven’t already. It will help you be more successful in college. Every type of financial aid has a deadline and most of them are different. In order for your application to be considered, each deadline must be met or you are out of the running. Plain and simple.

It is very important to answer questions truthfully and correctly. Follow all the instructions. If you don’t, you will create delays in processing your application. Because financial aid is usually given on a first-come, first-served basis, delays are frustrating and could hurt you. Because it can take several weeks for your FAFSA to be processed, especially if you use the paper FAFSA, it is best to fill out and submit your FAFSA as soon as possible after January 1. Don’t wait until the last minute. It’s your responsibility to stay on top of things.
