When you work with Blue Icon Advisors, you gain access to top professionals and thought-leaders in financial aid and enrollment management.
If you are a new or aspiring financial aid director, we invite you to participate in professional development opportunities designed especially for you— Aspiring Director Group Coaching and New Director Group Coaching!
For every project, we match you with a consultant to evaluate your needs and deliver an action plan that meets your short- and long-term goals. Many of our consulting options, described below, have been designed to take place off-site, saving you time and money. Since every project is custom, you won't receive services your school does not need.
Focused consulting to help institutions meet their enrollment management goals. We work with your leadership team or with your existing software or management consultant to ensure financial aid and enrollment management issues are being addressed completely and appropriately with the best allocation of available resources.
Explore the current state of student satisfaction through the use of student surveys, interviews with students and staff, and a review of student-facing communications. If your school is experiencing long lines or unhappy students, we can help find the root of the problem and recommend changes to improve student satisfaction at your institution.
Review your school's federal policies & procedures for compliance issues, write missing pieces, and/or move them into NASFAA's P&P Builder. We can include staff training on using the NASFAA P&P Builder, which features notifications in the tool on federal regulatory changes so you can easily update your manual from year to year. Please note that the NASFAA P&P Builder subscription is required.
Examine your IM policies for areas that conflict with federal requirements or may have unintended consequences for your students and increase burden on staff. We can upload your IM policies into NASFAA's P&P Builder and train your staff to use the tool (subscription required). The P&P Builder provides notifications on federal regulatory changes that you can check against your IM policies in the future.
Enhance the skills you need to lead your department, position yourself (and the financial aid office) at your institution, and effectively managing your employees and projects.
Set your new director or yourself up for success with one-on-one professional coaching and consulting during the first year on the job.
Review procedures on specific topics to ensure compliance with federal Title IV rules and regulations, and provide a report of findings with a priority order to address the highest liability issues. For a full compliance review of all Title IV rules, check out NASFAA's Standards of Excellence Review Program.
Evaluate the financial aid office organizational size and structure, functional tasks, technology use, and workflow to identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies. We can provide recommendations to improve effectiveness, customer service, and staff performance.
Provide federal Title IV compliance training to your staff, either on-site or via video/web conferencing. Our consultants have NASFAA credentials in the topics presented, so your event qualifies the attendees the opportunity to sit for the respective NASFAA U Credential Test. We offer 17 training topics including Return of Title IV Funds, Consumer Information, Gainful Employment, and Verification. Customer service and professional development training are also available.
