Summary: Availability of Updated 2008-2009 Specifications for Software
Developers
Federal Student Aid is alerting schools, servicers and third-party software
developers that we have posted an updated version of the Specifications
for Software Developers for the 2008-2009 cycle.
This updated version adds reject suppression edits that can be set by
financial aid administrators (FAAs) for Reject Codes 3, 4, 12, and 20
(4059-4062). The omission of these reject suppression edits from the prior
versions of the Specifications for Software Developers for the 2008-2009
cycle caused confusion for servicers who received Institutional Student
Information Records (ISIRs) in which FAAs had overridden the reject codes.
The 2008-2009 Specifications for Software Developers is available in
PDF format on the Information for Financial Aid Professionals (IFAP) Web
site, located at http://ifap.ed.gov.
For readers who are viewing this message electronically on IFAP, the document
is provided as an attachment to this message. Otherwise, to view, print,
