Union Theological Seminary & Presbyterian School of Christian Education Offers to Take In 12 Theology Students From Hurricane-Damaged Campuses

RICHMOND, VA, Sept. 2, 2005 -- Union Theological Seminary & Presbyterian School of Christian Education has offered to take up to 12 master’s-level students in divinity or Christian education this fall from accredited institutions in the area affected by Hurricane Katrina.

The students will pay no tuition and will be provided with a dormitory room or a furnished campus apartment at no charge. Students would be responsible for the cost of meals and books. Acceptance in the home school degree programs of any credits earned this fall would be the responsibility of the student and home school.

The students would be eligible to study for the fall term at Union-PSCE. Classes in Richmond begin Sept. 12.

Eligible students must be enrolled in seminaries accredited by the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada (A.T.S.) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (S.A.C.S.). Union-PSCE is accredited by both institutions. There are six accredited seminaries in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama with a combined enrollment of more than 3,500 students.
