Los Angeles Radio Program Examines Interest Rate Hike
Los Angeles's KABC's "McIntyre in the Morning" radio program on July 2 discussed the recent increase in interest rates for new subsidized Stafford loans. NASFAA President Justin Draeger was featured in the segment, where he said that the increase "does add another obstacle in a family's attempt to pay for college." The federal student loan market "makes up the lion's share" of the federal student aid that is dispersed and there is a much larger conversation about the cost of college and federal student loan interest rates in general, Draeger said.
