Verifying eligibility for students who fail the Citizenship Status database match with the Social Security Administration or the Eligible Noncitizen database match with the Department of Homeland Security, is challenging and time consuming. This webinar teaches you to resolve citizenship issues efficiently to prevent unnecessary delays in awarding and disbursing Title IV funds. NASFAA training analysts and school representatives will provide tips and tools to help you determine if students satisfy the Title IV citizenship status eligibility criterion and answer your questions about citizenship and eligibility.

This webinar will help you:

  • Identify eligible citizenship statuses and the acceptable documentation to verify statuses
  • Review, interpret, and confirm the validity of various citizenship documents
  • Assist students with expired or lost documents
  • Review visas and identify ineligible citizenship statuses
  • Perform the paper secondary confirmation process
  • Interpret U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) responses to Form G-845
  • Determine the Title IV eligibility of student under the Victims of Trafficking and Violence Protection Act and the Violence Against Women Act
