Subject: ISSUE ALERT – Federal Student Aid Systems User Access Issue and Resolution

Our Student Aid Internet Gateway (SAIG) Enrollment system oversees the Active Confirmation process for all professional users of Federal Student Aid systems. This process requires that each institution review and validate its assigned TG numbers and Electronic Services user accounts on an annual basis, to ensure that enrolled staff continue to require access to each service or system.

While performing a routine system job this past weekend related to Active Confirmation, we inadvertently removed access to Federal Student Aid systems for some professional users. Impacted users were primarily those who had been actively confirmed by one institution but were not confirmed by another (likely, former) institution. Access may have been lost to one or more Federal Student Aid systems, including access to the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS®), the Common Origination and Disbursement (COD) System, FAA Access to CPS Online, and EDconnect.

To resolve this issue, we will implement a system fix tonight to automatically reestablish access for impacted users. Users do not need to take any action, including users who have already resolved the issue by working directly with CPS/SAIG Technical Support.

If you continue to experience access issues on or after October 18, 2019, please send an email to CPS/SAIG Technical Support at [email protected]. Include your FSA User ID in the request and identify the Federal Student Aid system(s) to which you lost access. We will work to restore your access within one business day and will notify you via email when access is restored.

We regret the inconvenience to users and thank you for your patience. We are implementing changes to prevent this situation from recurring.

Contact Information

Please note that due to high call volumes, we recommend sending an email to [email protected] as described above. If needed, CPS/SAIG Technical Support can also be reached at 1-800-330-5947.
