Has ED Extended OIG Audit Guide Submission Deadlines Due To Coronavirus?

This AskRegs Q&A has been updated to reflect the extension offered in the May 15, 2020 Electronic Announcement.

Yes. As described in the May 15, 2020 Electronic Announcement, the U.S. Department of Education has exercised its authority under the Higher Education Relief Opportunities for Students (HEROES) Act to extend by six months the deadlines for submission of financial statements and compliance audits under the OIG Audit Guide.

This extension is consistent with the six-month extension previously provided by the Office of Management and Budget for audits required under the Single Audit Act. See also AskRegs Q&A, Has OMB Extended the March 31, 2020 Single Audit Act Submission Deadline Due to Coronavirus?
