By NASFAA Staff

The end of 2015 saw a flurry of activity from the Department of Education (ED), which released several important electronic announcements. Below is a summary of several that stood out to us, in case you missed them.

First, ED on December 30, 2015, announced two webinar dates that will provide information about the requirements for verification of FAFSA/ISIR information and for the resolution of Unusual Enrollment History (UEH) issues. Office of Postsecondary Education (OPE) senior staff will present this webinar in a 90-minute session held on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at 1:30 P.M. (ET) and again on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at 1:30 P.M. (ET).

A webinar on the “Experimental Sites Initiative: Dual Enrollment Experiment” will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at 1:30 P.M. (ET).

ED also announced on December 29, 2015, that the final versions of the 2016-2017 FAFSA and the Eligibility Worksheet for Question 23 are now available to applicants in English and Spanish.

The CPS Web Demo system is also available for use at http://fafsademo.test.ed.gov, according to a December 28, 2015 announcement. Please note it does require the following login and password (the User Name and Password fields are case-sensitive.):

User Name: eddemo
Password: fafsatest

Lastly, access for any unconfirmed TG Numbers (SAIG Mailboxes) has been removed, ED announced on December 28, 2015. In October, ED initiated the active confirmation process that required every organization enrolled for a Student Aid Internet Gateway (SAIG) account to be reviewed and validated by December 11, 2015.
