A bipartisan group of representatives introduced a bill late last month to help students who are working and/or have dependents access financial aid by extending students’ lifetime Pell Grant eligibility and raising the allowable income threshold for Title IV aid.

Yes, if it is a photocopied, photographed, PDF, or faxed copy of the handwritten tax return that was filed with the IRS, you can accept it without asking questions as long as it contains the tax filer's signature. It does not need to be in an e-file format and it does not require tax preparer information if the tax filer's signature is on it. You are not required to request confirmation that it was filed with the IRS unless you have conflicting information in the student's file. NASFAA is pleased to announce the appointment of Christina Tangalakis, Ed.D., M.A., M.Ed., CFAA to the Certified Financial Aid Administrator™ (CFAA) Commission as one of two commissioners-at-large. Christina is the associate dean of student financial aid services at Glendale Community College in California, and currently serves CASFAA members as the segmental representative for community colleges. With more than 16 years of experience in financial aid administration at several public and private colleges and universities, Christina's commitment to standards of excellence and lifelong learning will lend valuable perspective to the work of the CFAA Commission on behalf of the financial aid community.
