The Board of Directors of the Postsecondary Electronic Standards Council (PESC) announced that Michael D. Sessa has been named interim Associate Executive Director effective in mid-October. Sessa will become the Executive Director in December with the retirement of Lysbeth Bainbridge, who has served in this position since the organization's inception.
Sessa is currently Director of Program Relations and Planning for American Student Assistance. In this capacity he has represented ASA for three years in strategic initiatives involving policy, technology and data standards-setting. He has been an active participant in student lending industry groups and associations, including NCHELP's Electronic Standards Committee and CommonLine, ELM Resources, and the US Department of Education. Sessa has represented the National Association of Student Loan Administrators on the PESC Board of Directors since July 2000, supporting PESC by serving as the Membership Chair, Conference Planning Chair, and Liaison to the XML Forum Steering Committee.
