The 2004 book drive that was held at the NASFAA Conference in Minneapolis was a huge success. Thank you to all who participated! Over 270 books were collected and cash and gifts cards donated totaled over $12,900. A special thank you to Border Books for selling the books and gifts cards as well as for donating $1,646 in gifts cards to the drive. NASFAA would also like to pay special recognition to Nelnet, which donated $5,000; the Midwest Association (MASFAA), which donated $1,000, and Student Loan Consolidations Center, LLC, which donated $2,700.
A complete list of donors will appear in the Conference edition of NASFAA's Student Aid Transcript.
The books and gifts cards will be split equally between Earle Brown Elementary School (Twin Cities metro area, grades K-6) and St. James Armstrong Middle School (rural southern Minnesota, grades 4-7). Budget cuts have hit their schools and libraries extremely hard and both are thrilled to be the recipients of your generosity.
Thank you again!
