The first several sections of the twenty-first edition of the NASFAA Self-Evaluation Guide for Institutional Participation in Title IV and Other Federal Programs are now available on NASFAA's Web site at http://www.nasfaa.org/annualpubs/selfevalmenu.asp.
This edition of NASFAAs Self-Evaluation Guide serves as an in-house self-assessment tool to help your institution prepare for required audits of the institutions administration of the Department of Education Title IV and Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) student financial assistance programs during the 2005-06 award year. Requirements representing changes effective for the 2005-06 award year are highlighted. We hope that you find the Guide helpful as you evaluate your institutions compliance with current statutes, regulations, and other ED and HHS requirements.
New Feature Introduced
To further assist you in completing your self-evaluation, this year we have linked certain sections of the Guide to the applicable regulatory citations contained in NASFAA's Compiled Title IV Regulations. The linked sections we hope will be most helpful include the Campus-Based Program Common Provisions, Student Consumer Information, Return of Title IV Funds, and Verification sections.
Initial Sections Posted
The Self-Evaluation Guide is being posted in phases. This first phase includes the following sections:
- Introduction
- Personnel and Interoffice Communication
- Statement of Ethical Principles
- Federal Work-Study Program
- Appendix A: Document Control
Additional sections will be posted to NASFAA's Web site as they are completed. Watch Today's News for announcements as new sections are added.
The Guide is a benefit of NASFAA membership and requires a Web site ID to access.
