Research Grant Opportunities Offered by NASFAA

NASFAA is pleased to inform you of the availability of research grants for financial aid administrators and other researchers who wish to conduct research and policy analysis projects on financial aid policy and related matters. Funds are available through NASFAA's Sponsored Research Grant Program (SRGP), which awards grants to researchers who need financial assistance to complete research on financial aid policy and practices.

SRGP may be used to pay any of the direct cost of conducting research. Such costs may include (but are not limited to): hiring research assistants; purchasing computer hardware or software; and transportation attend project-related meetings. Aid administrators who are in graduate school programs may also use SRGP funds to complete theses, dissertations, or other projects required for master's or doctoral degree programs.

Funding for the Sponsored Research Grant Program is provided by Lumina Foundation for Education. SRGP application materials may be obtained from NASFAA's Web site. The deadline for submitting application materials is March 1, 2005.

For additional information about the Sponsored Research Grant Program, please contact Kenneth Redd, NASFAA's Director of Research and Policy Analysis.
