"Treehouse" Selected as 2006 Conference Local Nonprofit for Charitable Donations
Each year members attending the NASFAA National Conference have generously assisted local nonprofit organizations with donations and gifts. The 2006 Conference Committee has selected Treehouse to be this year's recipient.
Treehouse is a private, independent nonprofit organization in Seattle that assists foster kids. The services range from providing basic needs such as clothing to assisting with preparation for college. Since fewer than 10% of youth in foster care attend postsecondary institutions, donating to Treehouse provides NASFAA members with an opportunity to help foster kids meet the challenge of attending college.
These future college students require assistance with school supplies, clothing, and cash donations. Providing hand calculators, binders, "hoodies," and cash donations for SAT test fees will make a difference! Please refer to the attached wish list and make your selection on how you can help. You may bring items to the conference. There will be Treehouse staff present at the conference to collect items. Or you may prefer to bring cash or checks. Additional information about "Treehouse" can be found on its Web site at www.Treehouseforkids.org.
The members of the Local Arrangements and Conference Committee thank you for your assistance in this worthy endeavor and are looking forward to seeing you in Seattle this summer.
