Higher Education Community Service Recognition Opportunity

Are you looking for a way to showcase your school's community service work?

Institutions are invited to submit applications to be included on the President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll. Applications must be submitted electronically and are due on Sept. 15, 2006. The activity is designed to "increase public awareness of the contributions that students, faculty, and staff are making within their local communities and across the country through volunteer service with a special emphasis this year on activities performed in response to the Gulf Coast hurricanes of 2005. The program also identifies and promotes community service model programs and practices in higher education."

Note that schools may describe up to five projects in the "Exemplary Service Projects - General" section and up to an additional five projects in the "Exemplary Service Projects - Hurricane Relief" section. The Federal Work-Study community service hours and projects are eligible for inclusion in an institution's application for the President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll.

For the application and more details, see http://www.nationalservice.org/about/programs/initiatives_honorroll.asp
