NASFAA Wants to Know about Members' Early Awareness Efforts
The Student Access and Diversity Committee would like to gather information on the college early awareness presentations that members provide during the 2006-07 academic year. Please click here to submit an Early Awareness Presentation Report for early awareness efforts you have participated in.
Earlier this year, the committee challenged NASFAA members to reach out to the local community and make an early awareness presentation at an elementary or middle school. NASFAA hopes to track these efforts through Early Awareness Presentation Reports completed by members.
The committee developed an early awareness presentation and handout members can use increase early awareness among middle school students and to help these students start planning for college. The presentation "Education After High School: Do YOU Want to Go to College?" is available in Portable Document Format (PDF) (182 KB) and in Microsoft PowerPoint (PPT) (263 KB). The "Preparing for College Checklist" that is included in the presentation is also available as a separate handout in PDF format (69 KB) that members are encouraged to download and photocopy for distribution. The URLs for links are included in both versions, but the links are live in the PDF presentation but not in the PowerPoint presentation.
