Clarifying The Chronicle's Article On The NASFAA Board Meeting

The Chronicle of Higher Education reported today on NASFAA's board meeting stating that NASFAA "decided over the weekend to ban student-loan companies from sponsoring meals, receptions, and advertising at its annual conference."

Unfortunately, the unidentified board member cited in the article misunderstood the board’s action. While the board did in fact spend a great deal of time creating a draft NASFAA code of conduct, it remains in draft state and has not been finalized pending further review.

NASFAA will provide a complete summary of the meeting and actions taken by the board in the near future.
