NASFAA President And New York Attorney General To Announce Code Of Conduct
National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA) President Dallas Martin and New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo will hold a press conference at 11:30 a.m. in New York City to announce NASFAA’s "Code of Conduct for Institutional Financial Aid Professionals." The Code of Conduct will be sent to all NASFAA Member institutions via e-mail immediately following the press conference later today.
The NASFAA Board of Directors developed the Code of Conduct in collaboration with the New York Attorney General’s Office to provide specific guidance to help aid administrators ensure that their policies and practices are above reproach. The Code expands upon and explains the principles set forth in NASFAA’s longstanding "Statement of Ethical Principles," and provides specific standards of conduct that should be adopted by all NASFAA members as professionals. The six-point Code was unanimously approved by the NASFAA Board of Directors.
NASFAA will offer specific training on the Code of Conduct at the 2007 National Conference and throughout the coming year.
In addition, NASFAA has invited the NY Attorney General to be the keynote speaker at the closing session of its 2007 National Conference in Washington DC on July 11, 2007.
