Q & A’s From NASFAA’s Recent Webinars On The Loan Program Final Regulations
On November 19, NASFAA presented its first Webinar on areas of the final regulations for the Federal Perkins Loan, Federal Direct Loan, and Federal Family Education Loan (FFEL) programs issued by the Secretary Department of Education on November 1, 2007. On December 11, NASFAA provided a second Webinar that focused on answering questions generated by the November 19 Webinar. Officials from the Department of Education Office of Postsecondary Education also participated in the Webinars and helped to answer member questions.
Department of Education staff, including Team Leader of Forecasting and Policy Analysis Pam Moran, Senior Policy Analyst with Policy and Budget Development Gail McLarnon, and Director of Forecasting and Policy Analysis Dan Madzelan, joined NASFAA staff members David Futrell, Stacey Peterson, Eunice Powell, and Larry Zaglaniczny to present and answer questions in the second Webinar.
NASFAA has compiled questions and answers from the Webinars into several documents that will be released over the next few weeks. Q&A: The Final Rules, Fall 2007: Title IV Student Loan Programs Part I contain questions and answers developed and answered by NASFAA and the Department. This document also contains answers to the questions from the PowerPoint slides from the Dec. 11 Webinar.
