The NASFAA Graduate and Professional Issues Committee (GPIC) is proud to announce the availability of the "Financing Graduate Education: Guide for Prospective Students." The guide provides information, additional resources, and useful Web sites to give students a jump start on finding financial aid and planning for their graduate education.
The brochure describes:
- Financial aid eligibility criteria
- The basic application process
- Resources for debt management
- Further information for securing graduate or professional financial aid
The GPIC encourages financial aid, career development/management, and admission offices to use the brochure to help potential graduate or professional students understand the differences in funding sources and learn how to apply for the money they need for their post-baccalaureate studies.
Catherine King-Todd, Director of Financial Aid at Thunderbird School of Global Management suggests this brochure "for anyone advising or assisting students who are thinking of pursuing a graduate or professional degree immediately following or within a few years of completing their undergraduate degree program."
Doug Severs, Financial Aid Director at Idaho State University said, "NASFAA's Financing Graduate Education brochure will be a great tool to inform our graduate students and their departments of many funding sources for graduate students. It will be nice to have a financial aid brochure that focuses just on graduate students."
The four-page brochure is available in a PDF version on the NASFAA Web site. You can link to the brochure at this location or you can download and duplicate the document for distribution or to post on your own site.
We hope you and your students find this brochure helpful. If you have any questions or ideas to share, please contact one of the GPIC Committee members. We would be happy to discuss this new resource with interested NASFAA members.
