Digg NASFAA's Article About Finding Scholarships

NASFAA has written an article providing students and parents with tips on finding scholarships and we'd like your help to get the article widely distributed on the Internet by using Digg.com

For those of you who have never used Digg.com, this is also a great way to learn about a new Internet service that many of your students likely use to find and share information.

Digg.com is a social news Web site that allows people to discover and share Internet content. Blogs, pictures, podcast, and articles can all be found posted by users at Digg.com. The difference is that the material and its popularity is determined by users. Submission that receive enough "diggs," are placed on the Digg.com front page where potentially millions view and comment on the material. The Digg.com community ultimately decides what content is shared, as well as what content is popular.

How it works:

Simply visit the article "Tips on How to Get Scholarships" and look for the Digg.com button at the top and bottom of the article. Click the Digg.com button and you will be taken to the Digg.com Web site. Click "Digg It," and you will be prompted to either log in or create a new Digg user account. If you don't have a Digg account, you can create one and then circle back and click "Digg It" to add to the articles popularity.

If the article is "dugg" enough times, it will grow in popularity and become visible to more people. Upon receiving enough diggs, it becomes popular and moves to the front page of its category. If it is really popular it will be in the top 10. Content that does not receive enough diggs in a certain time frame will fall out of the upcoming section.

You can also invite your friends or find them on digg and add them to your friends list. Your friends will be able to track what you're digging and you can see what they digg as well, and you can collectively find news. You can also send your friends (Diggers or non-Diggers) the stories that you digg. You will be able to share your opinions by commenting on stories, videos, and podcasts as well as "digging" and "burying" comments by other users.

NASFAA hopes you will begin your new digger life by digging the following URL: http://www.nasfaa.org/publications/2008/anscholarships070208.html.
