NASFAA has updated its financial aid night materials for the 2009-10 award year.
The presentation guide is not a full script. Instead, it assumes that the presenter is familiar with the Title IV programs and application process, and presents key points in a bulleted format to guide the presenter through the presentation. The presentation guide also recommends that presenters provide members of the audience with copies of the 2009-10 FAFSA on the Web Worksheet and the Student Aid Program Summary Chart to use as references during the presentation.
The accompanying PowerPoint presentation follows the presentation guide.
The financial aid night materials continue to include all the handouts that have been available in previous years. NASFAA has updated the handouts to include any applicable changes for 2009-10.
Please note that the materials were prepared using a draft copy of the 2009-10 FAFSA on the Web (FOTW) Worksheet. The Department of Education has given NASFAA permission to post the draft of the Worksheet for use with the What You Need to Know about Financial Aid presentation. Presenters may download and print copies of the draft Worksheet to hand out to their audiences. Once the Department releases the official FOTW Worksheet, presenters should use it instead of the draft during financial aid nights.
NASFAA welcomes feedback on the updated materials. Please send comments and suggestions to Ms. Connie McCormick, Director for Professional Assessment, Training, and Regulatory Assistance at mccormickc@nasfaa.org.
You may access the updated financial aid night materials on the NASFAA Web site.
