Incoming National Chair David Gruen Urges Members To Volunteer For NASFAA Committees

Like Uncle Sam, NASFAA NEEDS YOU! We're entering a new and exciting chapter in NASFAA's history. Now is the time for our members to step forward and become involved in setting the course for NASFAA's future. So, please do yourself and the association a favor by joining with me and our new President and CEO, Dr. Phil Day, by completing the NASFAA Volunteer Form for the 2008-09 program year by April 11, 2008. Committee membership will be selected in mid-May.

As a nonprofit professional association, NASFAA depends on its members to volunteer and help accomplish the many ambitious goals of our association. Every year, NASFAA staff collaborates with volunteers on 15 association committees to accomplish a wide-range of activities that keep the association relevant and strong. This year volunteering is more important than ever as we move forward to accomplish Dr. Day's vision for NASFAA.

In addition to strengthening NASFAA, volunteering also provides invaluable opportunities for volunteers. Volunteers have a great opportunity to provide input and direction for the association. The work of NASFAA committees ensures that NASFAA continues to offer the products, services, and advocacy our members need and want. In addition, volunteering provides the opportunity to network with financial aid professionals from around the country, which can lead to long-lasting friendships as well as resources and support. Volunteering is a great way to strengthen your resume and further your career in financial aid. But best of all, this work is incredibly rewarding and fun.
