During NCI listening sessions all aid administrators who addressed simplification agree we need to simplify the aid process for applicants. Some suggestions have referred to using IRS data in lieu of the FAFSA. This raises a number of questions. Please let us know your thoughts regarding the potential problems and benefits associated with using IRS data to replace some or all of the FAFSA.
Share your thoughts on this question in NASFAA's NCI Forum. Each week, NASFAA President and CEO Dr. Phil Day will post several questions to spur discussion on specific aspects of federal student aid as part of its ongoing National Conversation Initiative (NCI). The NCI is a nationwide campaign to eliminate the financial barriers to college access and success for low- and moderate-income students. Your input is vital to making this campaign a success.
