Some members have notified NASFAA that they have sporadically not been receiving Today's News via e-mail the past few weeks. NASFAA is aware of the issue and is working with the company that manages the Today's News e-mail list to resolve the issue in the near future. We apologize for any inconvenience this disruption causes.
L-Soft, the company managing the Today's News listserv, said its Customer Support department is currently investigating non-delivery issues raised by NASFAA members. In addition, L-Soft has notified NASFAA that its operations department is looking into "connection lost during DATA transaction" errors that have likely caused the disruption for some members.
For members experiencing a disruption in their Today's News emails, NASFAA suggests the following work-around solutions to get your daily news for the short time it will take us to resolve the issue.
- Today's News headlines (with links to complete articles) are posted to the NASFAA home page every morning
- A complete Today's News issue is posted to the Today's News archive Web page every morning
- And, Today's News is also available through an RSS feed. Details about NASFAA's RSS feed and information about how to subscribe are available online.
Blocklists
NASFAA would also like to notify members about non-delivery issues caused by "blocklisting," an industry-wide phenomenon as more servers are being reported to blocklists more frequently than ever before. L-Soft has historically been very fortunate to mostly steer clear of the blocklists. However, despite their continuing best efforts, L-Soft has been blocked more often over the past two years - still not nearly as much as others in the industry.
If you suspect that L-Soft servers are being blocked on your campus, you will have to consult with your IT department to resolve this issue.
Again, NASFAA apologizes for the inconvenience and thanks members for their patience as we work to resolve this issue in the near future.
