College Bound Cries Foul (The St. Louis Post-Dispatch)
"College Bound, a nonprofit start-up that two years ago began helping 39 disadvantaged high school students... overcome generational poverty to land on college campuses across the country," The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. "The program met with students twice a week for coaching on the ACT exam and the admissions process, and provided the one-on-one support of a college financial aid expert. But that excitement was cut short by a federal system of determining financial aid that experts say ignores the realities facing students from low-income and nontraditional families."
