Connecticut: Students Find Getting College Loans Tougher (Connecticut Post)
"For the most part, college financial aid officials say the nation's current financial meltdown is being felt less in Connecticut than elsewhere," the Connecticut Post reports. "The state's own lending system remains healthy. The Connecticut Higher Education Supplemental Loan Authority, backed by state bonds, is lending $30 million to 636 students this year whose families are deemed 'credit worthy.' The number of requests for loans has increased this year."
