Kentucky: Some Nurses Get Help To Pay Back Student Loans (The Courier-Journal)
"Norton Healthcare is helping some of its nurses pay their student loans after the lapse of a federally backed loan-forgiveness program," The Courier-Journal reports. "The company said it could provide as much at $1.75 million a year in loan support for current and newly-hired nurses who have loans with The Student Loan People, Kentucky’s only public nonprofit student-loan provider. Under the Best in Care program created in 2003, The Student Loan People forgave up to 20 percent of student loans annually for each year of full-time nursing service."
