Colleges Worry That Federal Rules Sill Increase Costs (The Star-Telegram)

"College officials called on the U.S. Department of Education on Friday to not overburden universities with regulations and costs under a sweeping new federal law," The Star-Telegram reports. "'It is no secret that colleges, in general, believe that this bill is going to add enormously to our costs,' said Victor Boschini, Texas Christian University president. 'The burden of the new reporting requirements alone is mind-boggling.' He made his comments to three Education Department officials during a meeting at TCU's Brown-Lupton University Union, one of several meetings scheduled across the country to allow people to speak on the Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2008. About 15 people spoke. Others listened. Here's the law and what some said about it."
