Having attended several NASFAA Symposiums, I can attest to the fact that the small group environment provides an excellent opportunity to discuss and exchange problems, solutions, and ideas among peers. This year will be no different, and the topic Professionalism and Ethics is both timely and timeless.
While there is a lot of discussion on lender issues, this year's Symposium will go beyond that to explore and discuss broader issues of ethics and professionalism, such as:
- Different perspectives on ethics in financial aid;
- Moral principles and values;
- How to know if you are an ethical person; and
- Making ethical decisions, including tips to help in making those decisions.
Case studies will also be presented for examination and discussion in break out groups.
So, give yourself a treat and take a "time out" from your busy office schedule for this relevant Symposium. You will be better prepared to deal with your daily challenges.
The Symposium will be offered in two locations: Seattle, Washington (April 5, 2008) and Adelphia, Maryland (April 21, 2008). Complete information about the symposium to include registration can be found on the NASFAA Web site.
