Morning Session (for College Goal Sunday Coordinators and Volunteers): Cost Effective Analysis and Fundraising - 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Wendy Erisman from IHEP will provide detailed results of the cost analyses taken from the 2007 College Goal Sunday state budget reports. We will be reviewing the cost per target audience in attendance and cost per site for each state program. This will be a helpful tool to maximize and identify the most cost-effective strategies based on demographics and other variables. A guest speaker will help explore fundraising strategies that have been effective for state programs and provide innovative techniques in local fundraising efforts.

For more information about the morning session, please e-mail Johnavae Quinn

Afternoon Session (Open to Everyone): College Access Needs You: Learn How to Bait the Hook - 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

NASFAA's Student Access and Diversity Committee is hosting this session that will offer an understanding of diverse student populations and address the challenges of engaging them in college access activities.

Last year's pre-conference was so successful that we have brought back a format that attendees have expressed as being important in their work. Attendees will hear stories that will help guide them in reaching underserved populations and hear about simple, effective strategies that have been proven to work. Facilitated by Ivan Juzang of MEE Productions, the day's agenda will include:

  • A panel representing "hard-to-reach" and challenging student populations

  • Interactive participation that opens up dialogues between our colleagues and panel members

  • Developing applications for effective outreach strategies that can be integrated in our professional roles

NASFAA's Board of Directors voted unanimously and enthusiastically to support college access with a generous allocation from NASFAA's Project Development Fund. No registration fee will be assessed and all materials and lunch will be served to all attendees registered for both sessions.

For more information about the afternoon workshop, please e-mail Haley Chitty

A networking reception will be held at the conclusion of the afternoon workshop.

Note: Due to the interactive nature of the afternoon preconference session, participation will be limited to the first 125 who register, so register today.

We hope to see you there.
