Summary:
This announces Federal Student Aid's release of the final report, "Analysis
of Quality Assurance Program Sample Data: 2006-07."
We
are pleased to announce the availability of the report, "Analysis
of Quality Assurance Program Sample Data: 2006-07." This report contains
findings from 132 of the schools participating in the Quality Assurance
Program during the 2006-07 award year.
Participating schools
drew random samples of aid applicants and required them to complete the
applicable Federal Verification Worksheet. We conducted a program-wide
analysis of the resulting changes to the ISIR data of nearly 63,000 aid
applicants who were selected by this exercise. Results address:
- The tendency for
different types of students to experience a change to a Pell Grant or
an EFC change in excess of 400 when subjected to Federal verification.
- The degree to
which corrections to the two data ISIR fields involved in a potential
IRS match - U.S. income taxes paid and adjusted gross income - account
for all corrections detected currently by Federal verification worksheets.
- The ability of
verification - both Quality Assurance School and CPS - to prevent potential
improper payments in the Pell Grant program.
