ED Issues Federal Aid First Brochure For Students And Parents
The Department launched a new brochure, Federal Aid First, a resource for students and families that explains - in simple terms - how they can apply for federal student aid and maximize more affordable, federal aid options.
Federal Aid First explains the differences between federal and private student loans, the various kinds of federal student loans offered, and the dollar amounts available. Included are details on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which is the starting point for obtaining financial assistance for college.
The Department sent the new brochure to institutions and additional copies can be ordered on line at www.edpubs.ed.gov or by calling 1-877-4ED-PUBS. The brochure can also be viewed and printed from www.federalstudentaid.ed.gov.
