On July 1, 2008, we published a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NRPM) in the Federal Register that proposes changes to the regulations related to the Federal Perkins Loan Program (34 CFR Part 674), the Federal Family Education Loan Program (34 CFR Part 682), and the William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan Program (34 CFR Part 685). This NPRM is a result of statutory changes made to the programs by the College Cost Reduction and Access Act (CCRAA). A PDF copy of the NPRM is attached to this announcement and is also available directly on the IFAP website under Federal Registers.
The comment period for this NPRM ends on August 15, 2008. If you plan on submitting comments, please carefully review the information on page 37694 of the NPRM for the procedures to be used for the submission and review of comments.
