The Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2008 (HEOA) made several changes to entrance and exit counseling provisions.

To assist schools in complying with these changes, the School Issues Workgroup of NCHELP's Program Regulations Committee has produced two checklists. These tools are intended to provide schools with comprehensive lists of counseling requirements, combining both regulatory and statutory requirements. Those provisions drawn from HEOA, effective August 14, 2008, are bolded for easy identification. The checklists may be shared with schools either electronically, or printed as a single page, front and back.
