The enthusiastic support received in the first six months since the launch of the Dallas Martin Endowment for Public Policy and Student Aid (DME) only proves what we already knew: NASFAA members are some of the most generous people on earth. NASFAA expresses its deep gratitude and recognizes the generosity of our DME donors below, and looks forward to the support of many more of its members in the coming months.
NASFAA launched the Dallas Martin Endowment in December 2008 to continue the strong legacy of successful legislative advocacy begun by NASFAA's founders and its president of 32 years, Dr. A. Dallas Martin. DME will support semester-long internships for promising students who plan to enter a career in public policy or student aid research. DME interns will learn -- from mentors on the NASFAA staff and hands-on experience -- how to advocate effectively on behalf of students and schools. Once fully funded, DME will also establish an Information Resource Center and Library on Public Policy and Student Aid.
Through DME, NASFAA will cultivate a generation of leaders who understand the complexities of higher education funding, can support their claims with sound research, and can fight for students effectively on Capitol Hill and beyond.
Join Us!
Tomorrow's leaders need our support and guidance today. To date we have raised more than $50,000, which is a good start toward our ambitious goal of $300,000. We urge all NASFAA members to join your colleagues in contributing to this critical effort. All donors will be listed on the NASFAA Web site and announced in periodic updates in Today's News. Donors contributing $25 or more will also be listed in the December issue of Student Aid Transcript magazine, and those contributing $500 will be honored on a plaque in NASFAA's future Resource Center and Library.
