Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program Announces Spring 2010 Application Webinar

The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program offers a competition for awards for undergraduate study abroad and was established by the International Academic Opportunity Act of 2000. This scholarship provides awards for U.S. undergraduate students who are receiving Federal Pell Grant funding at a two-year or four-year college or university to participate in study abroad programs worldwide. The Gilman Scholarship Program seeks to diversify the kinds of students who study abroad and the countries and regions where they go. Specifically, the Gilman Program offers scholarships for students who have been traditionally underrepresented in education abroad.

The application cycle for Spring 2010 awards will open within the next two weeks, and the student deadline for submission of online application is October 6, 2009.

A webinar entitled "Walk Through the Application Process: How to Apply" will be offered on August 25th from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM CST. Students should visit the Gilman International Scholarship Web site to register for the webinar and find more information about the program.
