NASFAA Provides Answers to Your Frequently Asked Questions on Professional Judgment

NASFAA is pleased to announce the release of answers to the frequently asked questions posed during its Professional Judgment Webinar. This document contains responses to questions received during the live question and answer portion of the Webinar provided by NASFAA and Department of Education staff. Department of Education staff, included Carney McCullough, Senior Policy Analyst and Team Leader, and Marty Guthrie, Program Management Analyst from the Office of Postsecondary Education at the Department of Education.

The NASFAA Professional Judgment Webinar presented on June 11, 2009, focused on the application of professional judgment to:

  • Dislocated workers and displaced homemakers provisions
  • Dependency overrides
  • Need analysis data element adjustments
  • Denying or reducing FFEL/Direct Loan eligibility

Both NASFAA and Department of Education staff answered many of the questions received during the live question and answer portion of the Webinar. However, due to the volume of questions received, NASFAA announced that it would send participants responses to frequently asked questions. You still have time to purchase access to the archive recording of the Webinar along with the handouts at NASFAA Webinar Center. The new Q & A document will be emailed to you after purchase. The archive recording and handouts will only be available until September 10, 2009, so don't delay!
