NASFAA Is not SPAM

Last week we heard from several members that they did not receive emails from NASFAA, including password requests that are automatically generated. To ensure you receive all emails and notifications from NASFAA, please add news@listserv.nasfaa.org, news@nasfaa.org, and membership@nasfaa.org to your institution's or organization's safe senders list. You should also add these addresses to your personal address book and safe sender's list. If a spam filter thinks an email is spam, the email will either go to your junk mail folder or be blocked entirely. In either case, you won't see the email and you'll miss important information.

Your institution or organization is a member of NASFAA so we assume you want to hear from us. If you no longer want to receive emails from NASFAA, please don't hit the Block Sender or Spam button on your browser. By hitting either button, you are essentially blocking NASFAA emails from everyone who uses the same spam filter as you. Just last week more than 3,000 individuals at member institutions and organizations did not receive the reminder email about the free Webinar NASFAA offered. Once we uncovered the problem, we contacted the spam filter company and the issue was quickly solved; however, it's not always so easy. The spam filter companies can be tough.

Please opt-out instead. NASFAA recognizes that most people receive way too many emails every day. In an effort to put more control into your hands so that you can decide what you want (and don't want) to receive from NASFAA, please use the new unsubscribe and opt-out options that were introduced in a January Today's News article, http://www.nasfaa.org/publications/2009/anemail012709.html. Opting-out lets you block emails you don't want to receive, allowing all others through.
