'Marketplace' Will Help Rein in College Costs: Duncan (Chicago Sun-Times)
"Education Secretary Arne Duncan, the former Chicago Public Schools chief and basketball buddy of President Obama, says the 'marketplace' will work to keep university costs down," the Chicago Sun-Times reports. "And he seems intrigued with the notion of developing 'no-frills' campus options for financially strapped students. 'Parents and students are really smart consumers,' he said. 'They have more options than ever before. And where college costs at a particular school are skyrocketing, I think those places are going to, you know, put themselves out of business. I think the marketplace is going to correct this.'"
