Missouri: Student Financial Aid Directors Worry About Sudden Shift to Direct Federal Loans (St. Louis Post-Dispatch)
"Student financial aid directors across Missouri told Sen. Claire McCaskill on Friday that they were worried that a sudden shift to direct federal loans for students could lead to mass confusion, worse customer service and more work for their offices," St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. "However, officials at other universities who have already made the switch away from using private lenders as middlemen or who are in the midst of it said the changeover has not been too bad so far.
... McCaskill, a Democrat, held a roundtable discussion on Friday with about 50 parents, students, financial aid directors and other officials to get feedback on the proposed changes to financial aid before Congress."
