Financial Aid in the News

Texas: Mistake Causes Excess Aid Payments by UT-Dallas (The Dallas Morning News)

"The University of Texas at Dallas mistakenly gave too much financial aid to some students this fall, and they'll have to give the money back, officials said Friday," The Dallas Morning News reports. "Officials said the mistake happened while two departments were converting to a new data management system. The problem affects 137 students enrolled this fall, who received between $27 and $6,400 more than they should have. That represents about $160,000 out of more than $50 million in aid given this fall to nearly 10,000 students, officials said."
